The Volcanoes Erupt!

Have you heard? We made paper mache volcanoes in class. Check out the pictures below that show the process. On Monday we made the “ring of fire” near the preschool playground and erupted our volcanoes. Watch the video and you can be there too!     Grade 3: Volcanoes from Karin Gravina on Vimeo.

A Voki We Will Go….

Everyday, as third graders enter the classroom, they are greeted by a voki. A voki is an avatar that can be changed each day. I choose a character,  a background, and select a voice for the day. Then I type a message and the voki speaks! Try out the one below! Just push play.  

Harvest Festival

The harvest festival was a huge success! We made over $ 500! Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. Thanks to the volunteer “waitstaff”, the “financial backers”, the pizza “runners”, and the drink donations. We made shell fossils last week in class. Boy, millions of years sure does go by quickly! We looked at real fossils, talked about what type of rocks you find fossils in, and made positive shell fossils using quick drying plaster. Take a look at these pictures to see how they came out!     […]
