We began the night sky unit with a paper quilt featuring a moon theme. Then we made mini-teaching posters about the moon. We covered the topics of day and night, what the moon is like, the moon phases, and the first men to walk on the moon. Next, we gave “warm” and “cool” post its to the posters based on a criteria we designed. Take a look at the pictures below to get a snapshot of our learning.
